Peter & Deborah Keresztury


Peter and Deborah Keresztury have been producing the ART DECO SALES since 1984. Over the years, a December Holiday Sale was added and the shows expanded to include the 1950's and the 1960's. The time era of the ART DECO and MODERNISM SALES will now be 1900 - 1980.

The Kereszturys are also exhibitors at the Sales, selling Art Deco to 60s home furnishings, art, jewelry and collectibles. They previously owned a shop DECO TO 50's for five years and now sell only at their Sales and also at Art Deco and MODERNISM shows in New York and Los Angeles.

Their interest in Art Deco began in 1972, when they moved from New York City to San Francisco, where they attended a lecture on Art Deco. They were among the founding members of The Art Deco Society Of California. Deborah was on the board of directors of the society for many years.

The Kereszturys live in an Art Deco house on a hilltop in Marin, designed and built by Peter, who is a general building contractor. Their home is furnished with Art Deco designed furniture, original accessories and all the Deco treasures they have collected over the past 30 years.

Peter and Deborah's wonderful collection of Art Deco bakelite boxes and jewelry is featured in a new book co-authored by them and Nancy Schiffer of Schiffer Publishing. The book, ART DECO BAKELITE JEWELRY AND BOXES, includes hundreds of items that reflect the streamline modern designs of the 1920's and 30's.
